SIP & Windows Vista

We are using Windows Messenger 5.0. We sort of have no choice, since we use
SIP at work, and this version of IM is the only one that seems to work...

The issue we have is, when using Windows Vista, and Windows Messenger 5.0,
from time to time it will crash (i.e. close, with no error message) during a
conversation with someone. Any ideas what causes this, and how to fix it?

We've also tried the 'run as' option, i.e. run as compatibility WinXP.
Lastly, the user(s) that are using this, are all admin's...

Then I would suggest you contact the maker of your SIP program and work with
them. After all, it is their program that is denying you the use of
something you wish to use.

I would suggest you look into using Microsoft Office Communicator
(http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/communicator/FX101729051033.aspx) as
Windows Messenger is no longer being maintained.
