Windows has been detecting my single clicks as double clicks lately and I
can't figure out what's wrong. It doesn't do this every single time I click,
but about 3/4 of the time it does. For example, when I click the Back button
in my browser, Windows thinks that I clicked it twice and goes back 2 pages.
Or when I click a file once to select it, Windows thinks that I have
double-clicked it and opens the file. My mouse is an HP Wireless Optical
Scroll Mouse. It's signal receiver is connected to the mouse PS/2 port. It
has brand new batteries, and all of the mouse settings (including
double-click speed) in control panel are ok. I even uninstalled the mouse in
Device Manager and let the computer redetect it and reinstall the mouse
drivers. And I reinstalled the IntelliPoint software. But still the problem
persists. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.
