XP Professional, SP2, Outlook 2003 - does anyone know of a way to force email
to open with a single click?
(the change to single click in control panel, folder options, does not
change the setting for Outlook.)

thanks much!

Linda,

Place a shortcut to Microsoft Outlook in the Quick Launch toolbar?

I don't know if there's a way to do that but have you found the reading
pane in Outlook 2003 yet? You can add a button to the toolbar to toggle
this on and off.

I leave it off when reviewing newly received emails. Delete unwanted mail.
Then click button to turn reading pane on. Clicking once on an email,
places its contents into the reading pane.

NOTE: The reading pane can be configured on a per folder basis. Combine
that with message rules that sort trusted mail to specific folders and it
will always be "on" when reading that mail.

It appears the reading pane option is the closest I can get to eliminating
the double click to open emails.
thanks for the response.
