Singing Karaoke

I want to use a microphone and sing along to my karaoke tunes but it seems I
can only get one sound through. Is there a way I can do this that I am not
seeing?

Is it karaoke CD+G discs or MP3+G karaoke files and that you can hear the
music but can't see the lyrics?
Either way both Media Player and Winamp have a karaoke plugin.
For the microphone make sure it's enabled for playback and not muted in Play
Control.

Ummm no the music is regular MP3's. All I want to be able to do it use Movie
Maker to record myself singing the song and have both the sound from the
music and my voice on it sycronized. When I go to record off my webcam it
asks me for audio and theres only one option so I check microphone. I can
hear myself just fine its the music you don't hear...

Ummm but you can only use the narration after you've made the video, am I not
right? How would that work?

I just checked it out to see what would happen.
It places the narration in front of the MP3.
Here is one way you can do what you want but it takes some effort:
1. Place your MP3 in the timeline.
2. Place an image in the timeline.
3. Drag the edge of the image so it shows through the entire song.
4. Save this compilation to your computer.
5. Now import the newly made video into WMM and drag it to the timeline.
6. Now your MP3 is actually part of a video so it will show up there.
7. Now you can play it and record your narration.
8. Save your video.

Now if you want to make this audio only and remove the image that is quite
easy at this point. Simply import your newly created video and drag it to
the audio portion of the timeline. When you save it you will be given audio
options and the result will be a WMA file with the MP3 as well as your own
voice singing.
