since computer crashed and only runs on safe mode... i haven't been able to
install any updates. i get this message [Error number: 0x8007043C] on the
windows microsoft update site.

anyone?

Don't think you can install updates in safemode, so that's probably what the
error is telling you. You need to sort out why you can only run in safemode
first. If you press F8 during boot to bring up the menu can you select
normal mode. Or is you go to msconfig (type it in the run command) can you
select normal mode there and reboot.
