Simple Question re 5738 upgrade over 5600

An easy question for the more knowledgeable; If I upgrade by installing 5738
over a previously successfully installed (and operating) 5600 does the
upgrade clean install so that I will have to reinstall all programs,
documents, etc. - or does the upgrade simply upgrade 5600 while keeping all
the previously installed programs? Thanks for the help.

Hi Bill. Well from my experience and just upgrading from 5600 to 5728 last
night, I did not have to reinstall anything. It kept ALL my files intact. No
problems here. Good luck.

The upgrade in Vista is a different beast than in previous OSs. It actually
does a clean install of Vista, then reinstalls the programs that were
installed. That's why it takes so much longer for the upgrade than a custom
(clean install). The end result is similar to previous OS upgrades, but the
mechanism is much different.

Things can go wrong. Always have a backup.
