Simple backup program that runs at shutdown?

Currently I use Microsofts SyncToy to do my backup.

I've got a second drive in the computer which contains only backup data. At
shutdown, SyncToy runs and "echos" my data folders to the backup drive,
deleting, creating and updating files so that the backup drive holds the
same data as my working folders.

This would be perfect, except that once you create a folder pair in SyncToy
you cannot edit it. This is a royal PITA when I start moving drives or
folders around.

Can someone suggest a simple backup program that I can alter the backup
parameters once created? My criteria are:

- Able to execute a backup at shutdown time. Currently using a BAT file at a
shutdown script to run SyncToy.
- Able to execute a backup once a day at a specific time from Schedules
Tasks.
- The backup should simply be a duplicate of files on my workspace. I don't
want them packed together, zipped, archived, etc. Should I need a file from
backup I just want to do a COPY from drive X: to drive Y:.
- The application should delete files in my backup that no longer exist on
my workspace.
- Simple interface to create the backup tasks.

Thanks!

Both robocopy.exe and xxcopy.exe will do everything except
for your last dot point. You can download robocopy from the
Microsoft site (I think) and xxcopy.exe from the author's site.
Just Google for it!

Try syncback http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/sbse.html.

This little program is awesome. runs in the system tray, clicking on
it brings up a dashboard where you manage all your sync jobs, you can
setup filters, schedule it from task manager, not sure if you can call
it to run at shutdown but it does everything else you mentioned as
well, it will back up to ftp and zip your entire archive if you
wanted to. Hope this helps....

You could also try Karen's Replicator.

SecondCopy ($29.95) from www.centered.com. Highly recommended and we use
it on a lot of clients' machines from simple home users to small
business networks.
