Hi,

This is probably a silly question, but I've just bought my first PC with
SATA interface. I've order another SATA hard disk to go in - but am unclear
whether it will come with a SATA lead or whether I need to buy one
seperatley.

(The Hard Disk is a WD Raptor 74GB S150. I can't find any mention of the
package contents - so not sure if it will come with a lead or not. I didn't
get a spare lead with the PC).

Thanks in advance,

Bob H.

I bought my OEM Sata disk and it didnt come with sata cables, i got two
with my mobo.

OEM bare drive? no cable
retail version in the box will come with the cable.

If you ordered the Retail version then it should come with the cable. If
you ordered an OEM version then it will not come with a cable.

Thanks for the replies.

Got my lead yesterday, and I'm now waiting for the HD to arrive.

I've got a WD Raptor 74 GB 10,000 RPM SATA drive OEM, and it didn't
come with any cables, but I work at a computer store and get em free
anyways. We have so many spares we pretty much give them away.

Great choice of drive though! I've only go the one drive, when I get
enough money I'll get a second and raid them together to increase the
speed a lil more.. as of right now it takes about 14 seconds to load
into windows after post, which is considerably faster than my 7200 RPM
drive :D
