signing in problem

When I sign in to my hotmail inbox I click on the messenger Icon , I give my
Hotmail address and password. The messenger screen pops up telling me how
many new emails. I click on that and I go straight to my Inbox.

Now, instead of going straight to my Inbox, I get a ".NET Passport
Sign-in" saying one of two things.

1. Please retype your password or
2. This password doesnt match this address.

Once I type in my usual password I then get access to my inbox.

I used to go straight through to my inbox once I signed in . Why the
change?

Actually there's an option in Messenger that can cause this. To check/turn it off, open up
the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then Options, then Privacy tab, uncheck
''Always ask me for my password when checking Hotmail or opening other .NET Passport-enabled
webpages" and click OK.
