Something is causing a connection loss and causing people
to sign in, you see the pop up that so and so signed into
Windows Messenger and in fact they are not even at thier
desk. What could be causing this signing in and out
automatically?

.

I'm seeing logon/logoff in the security event viewer for
this user every few minutes, but he is not doing this
manually its all auto. Any ideas anyone?

you could always disable automatic sign in to stop this? or do not allow
messenger to remember the password?

Well, you know how you get a little pop up box when
someone signs in right, well all day long this guy Joe
keeps signing in and he isn't even at his desk. We would
rather he simply stay signed in like everyone else and not
have to have him re-logon each time because this happens
like every 6 minutes. Could he have a bad network
connection and only notice this now with messenger ? He
has no other problems with Exchange/Outlook or anything
else so it seems strictly messenger related. Thanks for
any replies and help on this.

it could be network\could be anything to do with powermangement\etc so check
his power settings

Checked all powere management stuff, and set all to off
basically so all things stay on all the time. I think its
something in the network. BTW we run SIP protocol and this
is internal on our LAN using Live Comm. Server 2005

if powermanagement dont fix it then it must be a network issue. Make sure the
client got all the same settings as other systems. If this does not fix issue
then i will have the pass the baton on to someone else who is more
experience in comm. server 2005.

Just try network test and see if there any logs on it. thats all i can help
with. Anybody else knows more about this side?

this is due to the fact that the person is using wireless
connection. or the The "keep-alive" option was not checked.
all this would possibly cause an idle connection and hence
dissconnecting the user from the internet. poor wireless
signals can also cause in disruptive connection.
