Signed Driver in WinXP but not Win2K? Please help!

I have a signed driver for a webcam that when installed on WinXP it
does NOT popup any dialogs telling me about it being unsigned, and
under the driver properties it shows as a publisher "Microsoft Windows
Hardware Compatibility Publisher", and signed of course.

Now if I install the same driver under Win2K, it pops up the message
telling "The software you are about to install does not contain a
Microsoft digital signature.".

I ran sigverif.exe on WinXP and Win2K to check is the driver is signed.

On both, sigverif.exe said the driver was signed. So why is Win2K
complaining about it on the driver installation process then??

Are there drivers that are certified and signed only for WinXP but not
for Win2K?

Why worry, install it, and yes there are very probably drivers unsigned for
win2k but signed for winxp

Either an unsigned driver works properly or not at all. I am using an
unsigned driver for a modem at this moment and have been doing so for
several months without a problem. So I wouldn't worry.
