Can I do this?

I have a dual boot system here between WinXP and Win2k, and for some un
known reason, my Epson usb 1250 scanner will no longer work since or
about installation of sp4 for win2k.
I have contacted Epson support who are no support, as they tell me to
contact Microsoft, because I have Microsoft usb drivers.
I have seen that nmy WinXP system has newer version usb drivers than
Win2k does, so I wondered if, as the scanner works ok in WinXP, I can
copy the said WinXP drivers to the Win2k system.

Or anyone know where I can get updated usb drivers for win2k?

usb drivers are obtainable from either pc manu.site or mobo. manu.site, or
usb card manu.site

cannot find them using google. Errr, I get ManU which is Manchester
United website.

My pc is homebuilt with win2k sp4/winXP sp1 and LM9.1 triple boot, and
scanner is Epson1250 usb.
I only want to update my usb drivers, which you said I can get from some
pc manu site????
Anyways I know what my hardware is because I bought it and installed it
myself. The mobo is the Abit A7N8X-X Rev 2.0 with onboard nic and audio,
also usb 2.0 ports
If you give me the link to that said site I will be able to tell if its
ok for me.

pc manu.site = pc manufacturers site
The usb drivers are part of yr motherboard drivers, supplied on cd, updates
avilable from asus site. You may also want to check for a bios update.
I'm assuming yr not using any external usb adapter/hub
What usb controler and hub drivers version do you have shown in hardware
devices?

Well it says 5.0.2195.6717 in hub/properties/driver, but in file version
in 'driver details' it says 5.00.2195.6689, so which one is it?
And for std....pci to usb it says 5.1.2600.1, but 'driver details' it
says 5.00.2195.6709 for this file usbehci.sys.

so which files are you actually talking about because I have 4 files in
pci usb box all of different versions.

I have just updated the BIOS to 1009 for my mobo, and still no scanner!

Anyway, still no scanner in win2k. I might look for another one later
