I would like to add a CreateDate and Time field to my Outlook 2007 signature
so that they update when a new message is created. I used to insert these
via AutoText in Outlook 2003.
I have tried to add the appropriate "Fields" to the signature, but they
display either as the original date/time added to the signature or as the
Field Code (not the result).

I don't think Outlook can make use of Word fields like that. Isn't the date on the message itself enough anyway?

Outlook 2003 can use Word fields and accomplish the date, time insert.
Outlook 2007 apparently cannot.

p.s. don't be so arrogant that you think you know best what users need for
their purposes. When I indicated I needed time and date - that's what I need!

Sue - arrogant? Hardly - more a case of you shooting the messenger when the news is not what you wanted to hear.

I haven't been able to get Word fields to work well in Outlook 2003. Do you have exact steps to reproduce your success?

Gee, since when is curiosity considered arrogance? I still wonder what value you see in putting the date in the message twice.
