Signature - odd appearance - field tags?

Anne

This is really odd - I got an email from a colleague a while ago. Her
signature appears at the bottom of the email, but some odd graphic elements
are surrounding each item in her signature.

For example, surrounding her name are colored blocks (they sort of look like
overgrown brackets or parentheses). Inside the block to the left of her
name, for example, "PersonName" appears in the block. Inside the blocks to
the left of the address, the words "Address" and "Street" appear.

I don't know if I am describing this well at all, but I sure am curious what
these elements are! They aren't showing on her system, nor are they showing
on others that receive the same email. These fields aren't showing on any
other signatures that other folks send me today.

I am on Office 2007 on a PC running Windows XP.

It's possible she had field names showing when it was sent and now it's text
rather than fields.

Thanks Diane, however for some reason ALT + F9 doesn't do anything on my
system. When I press Alt, the KeyTips appear (since I am on Office 2007).
Pressing ALT + F9 simultaneously doesn't do anything.

Also - shouldn't these fields show up on ALL email signatures? Not just
the
one e-mail?

This really isn't a big deal since the email is readable but I am just so
curious why this appears in one email and not in the others (and why I
can't
get the fields to go away.)

You have fields showing. Press Alt+F9 to toggle them off and on.
