Signature file causes "security settings ... ActiveX" error

I am using Outlook 2002 and Word 2002. I recently created a new signature and
added a little "signature" logo file using the Advanced Edit feature of
signatures that opens the signature file in Word 2002.

Now every time I attempt to use the signature file, I receive an error
message titled "Microsoft Internet Explorer" that says: "Your current
security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a
result, the page may not display correctly."

I attempted to modify all of the ActiveX controls both in Outlook and in IE,
but nothing seems to help. And I'm nervous about just allowing ActiveX
controls free reign anyway ....

I tried to do a search on the Web for this problem and see that others have
had it, but no one seems to have a solution. I also see that others have
posted the question here too ... but I can't find an answer?

Any ideas?? Please ???????????????

Any help would be "very" appreciated!!!!!!!

Thank you!!!!!!!!

Well, the reply appears to be on task, but the suggestion in the first
Microsoft KB article doesn't quite work. The error message now disappears,
but the picture now does not appear in the signature ... all I see is the red
X box.

As far as the second KB article, I'm a bit confused. Am I to edit the
registry to correct this problem? I really don't want to allow ActiveX
controls to run ... I just want a signature with a logo in it. ..... I'm not
quite understanding something here ....

More help?

Thank you, Andreas!!

No, Tommy, I haven't. My solution was to remove the logo .... not quite what
I was hoping for.

If you figure it out, let me know, okay?

No ... dang it. I've since updated to Outlook 2003, still using Win XP Pro.
Recreated the signature file using Word 2003 hoping that would help ... but
it doesn't. From what I can gather, we're not the only ones having this
problem, although Microsoft (sorry) seems to be ignoring this one ... sigh
