signature error

could not open the boot partition to check for the
signature. PLease suggest what kind of error is this and
its solution.

Possible causes:

Improperly jumpered IDE devices
Drive overlay software was used on the drive.
Improper cabling.
Or the IDE device has not been detected in the BIOS

I've seen this error happen if there is Partitioning Software installed on
the machine (such as EZBios for example)
I've also seen this happen when the harddrive is not being detected
correctly. Make sure the drive is being seen in the BIOS correctly
