sigmatel audio help

okay a couple months ago after getting my mic back fromy my cousin..i tried
to use my mic again and it didn't work..i did some trouble shooting myself
and found out my mic wasn't the reason it was my sigmatel audio
program..when i click on rear speaker to change it to mic settings it gives
me and error

"C:\windows\system32\runlegacycplelevated.exe"
shell32.dll, control_rundll "stacgui.cpl" page=portmap

and adivce or help?

Youre pc out sound adjustments should have no bearing on audio/in port.
Try,R.click the sound speaker by the clock,select,options,properties,set to
record from playback,then in new window,check the mic box & adjust.If all
else fails,go to run,typeXDIAG Run the audio tests in Direct X
