sidewinder Pro

Some have suggested SP2 might have something to do with sidewinder Precision
Pro not working, not too sure about that, but I have Creative Labs
Soundblaster Live Card that works OK. I can plug in CH Pro Pilot and
everything works fine. If I try to get the Sidewinder Precision Pro to work,
all I get in the device manager is "Not connected"
I've noticed too that drives for joystick are only for 95 and 98, are there
drivers for XP? Anyway of getting around this issue?
thanks

Hi geezer,

You can get basic functionality for this device because the drivers are
already in Windows 2000, but the software for mapping keyboard buttons to
controller buttons isn't available. To use the device do the following:

1. Connect the device to the gameport
2. Start -> Run -> Control Panel
3. Switch to "Classic View".
4. Run the Gaming Options control
5. In Gaming Options Click the "Add..." button.
6. From the list choose "Microsoft SideWinder (Auto Detect)"
7. This should install your device.
