sidebar

Hello,

One of the gadgets available on the sidebar is the cpu/ram meter (it looks
like an old-fashioned speedometer). I find it quite useful, but I want to
turn off the sidebar itself because it uses so much memory.

I can move the gadget onto the desktop, but when I exit the sidebar the
gadget disappears.

Can I keep the gadget running with the sidebar off ??

Thanks

I don't believe you can do this in Vista. You can look for a small program
that will provide the information you want and sit in the Notification Area
instead. Google for something like "free CPU monitor".
