To turn on: Type in Start Search "Windows Sidebar" (without quotes) and
press Enter.
To turn off: Just right click the tray icon of the Sidebar and click Exit.

Unlike using the run box in XP, leaving the quotes will not
keep it from working. It's funny because I still find myself
writing that "without quotes" at times, too. Old habits.
