Grey Color no longer Transparent

In Windows Vista, I lost my Sidebar settings. The Gagets are still there,
but the color of the Sidebar is now transparant; I can see the desktop
wallpaper right through the Sidebar. How do I make the sidebar itself,
solid grey (non-transparent) ?

You would have to turn off Aero as being transparent is the normal way it
shows. Strange, most people complain about it going the other way and you
prefer it opaque?

Is 'Aero' enabled elsewhere? eg transparent titlebars etc.

Adjusting your theme or changing display options, such as transparency
elsewhere may help

Right-click desktop > Personalize > Theme

and / or

Right-click desktop > Personalize > Windows Color and appearance
(NB if you don't see a row of colours there, then it's a good sign that aero
isn't enabled)

That's a quote from another post by Jon that I found using a Google search.

Right click a blank area, choose Properties, then Sidebar Is Always On Top
Of Other Windows.
