Sidebar does not become disabled when I tell it to

Danny.D.

My windows sidebar is very annoying so i decided to disable it, so that it no
longer runs on startup. But it still does for some reason. And same goes for
another startup program, I have tried to disable it but it still starts. Even
in the preferences for the Windows sidebar, it tells me that it WON'T start
at startup but continues to no matter what i do. Please help with this issue,
or at least tell me how to uninstall windows sidebar.

Hi Danny,

Click Start, type "Windows Defender" and press {ENTER}
In Windows Defender, click "Tools", click "Software Explorer"
Under "Startup Programs" category, select "Microsoft Windows Sidebar"
Click "Remove"
Click "Yes" when you're prompted with this message:

---------------------------
Windows Defender
---------------------------
Are you sure you want to remove the application from the list of programs that start automatically with Windows?
---------------------------
Yes No
