Side Bar out of Control

When I bring up a news group, it runs out of control with the sidebar
running all the way to the bottom. And I can't bring it back to the top.
The only way I can do this is to unplug my USB plug which controls the
mouse. Once I do that I can pull the sidebar back up to the top just
perfectly, by using the mouse pad on the laptop. If I plug the usb plug
back in (for the mouse) the sidebar crashes to the bottom of the screen.

I am using a M1710 Dell Laptop. It works great but this problem of the
sidebar running out of control while the usb mouse is in use, is a new one.
At the same time the screen saver won't work either.

If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated. I have the latest
service pack installed as of last night and that didn't help. I am running
Vista Home, and I installed new drivers for the areas concerning the
usbports and mouse. No luck with any of that.

It's called a 'scrollbar '. The sidebar is on the Desktop where the gadgets live.
It sounds like your usb mouse has a problem.
Have you tried another one?

Perhaps even try a different USB port to see it the problem still
exist.

If the ports are numbered, say 1-4 I put the USB mouse and keyboard on
1-2.

Disable Sidebar or go back to WindowsXP

Don't pay any attention to this moron. It seems he accessed his personal
services and disabled "Brain Function." Markey, head on over to alt.morons,
where you belong.

I totally agree, that moron is unable to spell correctly either.
