shutdown

When I attempt to shutdown my PC it gets as far as "it's
now safe to turn off your PC". Then when I click the
power button, nothing happens. If I press the reset
button and wait until the memory count and press the
power button it then turn off. Any ideas?

Thanks the 2cd link supplied the answer, it turned out to
be a powerdown issue. Resolved by the APM/NT Legacy Power
Node was not enabled. To enable this, right-click on the
My Computer icon, click Properties | Hardware | Device
Manager | View. Check the box labeled "Show Hidden
Devices." If it's available on your computer, there will
be a red X on the APM/NT Legacy Node
thanks again
