my computer always shuts me off when i'm on the
internet. It will let me be on for awhile then it
automatically shuts me off

Hi,

Sounds like Blaster worm virus.

Try these steps to get rid of the Blaster Worm:

Download patch#1:

Download patch#2:

Security Update for Windows XP (KB824146)

Further, disable the automatic restart option:

* Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and
Recovery.

* Click to clear the Automatically restart check box under
System failure, and then click OK.
