hi on my laptop when i click start for some reason i have log off and
shutdown not turn off ,then when i restart windows asks for a password which
i have not set up!!!luckily i can get to log on by pressing enter but y has
this changed ??and how do i get it back to normal??i dont even get the icon
just a windows xp page with a drop down box any help would be appreciated

I recommend you choose a password, but you don't have to. Go to start/run,
and type 'control userpasswords2' , Uncheck the password option, and follow
the wizard. This will log you on automatically, without asking for the
password

You can edit the registry by following the steps in this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315231
Or, you could click Start, Run, and type "control userpasswords2" and press
enter, then clear the "users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer" check box, and click apply.
