Shutdown then power down

Does anyone know how to get win xp pro to power down
after it has shut down. i have tried the help and support
section and tells me i should to to the APM section of
power option but that doesn't exist!!

can anyone help??

The APM advice only applies if your system is using it. Newer systems use a
different power management scheme and the APM tab won't appear on those
systems.
