Shutdown screen changes color to monochrome

How can I disable this feature. I don't want it to transition from color to
monochrome.

It does make a difference, why? Because I don't want it to act like that, I
am the customer and that's what I want. "You can't" should be in your
vocabulary when it comes to customer service. There is always "Let me find
out" or "I'll ask around" I made a seach in microsoft.com but I guess I am
asking the right question with the wrong words, what would be the right
question?

My guess has always been it is a preliminary step to the shutdown
process.
I never consider it an issue since the goal is a black screen and
monochrome is one step closer to black.

You may not get a reliable answer unless you connect with one of the
engineers responsible for that particular aspect of windows.

You would be more likely to get a better answer in a more technical
forum.
Certainly Security_Admin is the wrong forum for this type of question.

Windows XP is not a 100% user configuarble system.
There are certain design decisions, functionality and technical
implementations that you as the end user have no control over.
The shutdown routine triggered by your action of selection Start... Shutdown
on a non Domain member machine causes various processes to be called. One
of those processes dims the current desktop session screen to monochrome
while leaving the Shutdown, Standby ... Dialog box in color on screen.
There are no user configurable settings to alter this behaviour - it is by
design.

There are lots of other by design settings that you also have no control
over (e.g the color of the Start button in the Windows XP mode Start bar,
while you can change the color of the bar to one of the 2 shipped color
themes).
While you may think this is something you require more control over it was
not in scope for development effort to spend time on that particular User
Interface component to the detriment of the scheduling of resources to other
key operating system or UI components.
These are the trade offs when building massive software engineering projects
such as general purpose operating systems.
To add infinite user configurability and flexibility to one or more areas of
the product may well be prohibitively 'expensive' in terms of resources and
development time, thus leading to a never shipping of the product.

There is always the PC power button that you can push provided your PC is
configured correctly. Don't have to worry about the color changing on you.

That's what I wanted to read...

I know is unnecessary, I know it does not make a
difference for the user, but if your manager is asking for
that feature to be disable, all you can do is ask.

I have already provided the answer to the question - you cannot do what you
manager is requesting.
