Monochrome Scanner/Printer needed as copier

My father-in-law uses an Epson Scanner/Printer just as a monochrome B&W
copier, but even though he never uses the color ink, it runs out and
then the copier won't function until he purchases and installs a new
set of color cartridges. This becomes very expensive with time.

Is there an inexpensive scanner/printer that can be used in mono mode
only without using the color inks. Maybe even without having color inks
installed?

How about a laser all-in-one?

Good suggestion, Gary. I have ordered a NIB Samsung SCX-4100 Laser
Printer Scanner Copier for $129 delivered and that should do the trick!
