shutdown/restart problems

[Bevered]

windows xp (with SP1) suddenly only shutdown or restart after i do it twice,
and some time more
like if i press shutdown nothing happens, after i click it again it shuts
down, thats go for restarting as well

also the problem affected standby! now when i go into sleep the computer
most of the times wont resume after clickin or moving the mouse,

whats wrong u think?

On the standby issue, it is likely a noncompliant device driver. Did this
work previously? Or has it always been this way? Did you install any driver
updates recently? Or possibly add some new hardware?
