Shutdown question

Will anything drastic happen if the PC is shut down manually without waiting
for the blue screen notification? Mine seems to take an unusually long time
to close.

Shutdown is very slow - Windows XP

You may also apply this patch to expedite the shutdown process:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/shutdown.reg

Usage: Double-click the file and answer and YES when prompted.
