Shutdown Problems

I am unable to perform a normal shutdown. I have to go
through the Log Off then switch users. I then have to go
to Turn off in the lower left corner. I follow that with
turn off. I can find no virus using Norton. Also
sometimes when my PC is set to go into standby, I get an
error message that Nvidia capture.exe is unable to allow
standby.

Sounds to me like you have driver issues. I Would start
by reloading your video driver and see if that corrects
the issue.
