Shutdown problems

My computer will not shut down completely when I click

Ron,

Funny you should mention this problem as I experienced it for the first time
yesterday and have since discovered others with the same problem. Do you
have an ATI video card? If so, there seems to be a driver issue. The fix
that was suggested to me was to go into Device Manager and remove your video
card devices listed. Shutdown the computer and then restart the computer.
The card should be automatically detected and installed. If that doesn't
work, I would suggest going to ATI.com and downloading the latest driver.

Let me know as I am curious about whether your problem and solution is the
same.

I tryed uninstalling my video card and windows redetected
it but the original problem still remains

Have you tried what M. Rajesh suggested with his Microsoft KB article? It
looks pretty promising.

Also, after reading the resolution process, I would disconnect your network
cable if you have one before you begin the steps.
