Shutdown Problem

Loaded XP Home full version and now can not shutdown
computer. When trying to it goes to the "safe to turn off
computer" but does not shut down and can not turn off
with power button. Have to unplug from wall. Any one have
this problem or know how to fix it. Looked in
troubleshooter and it will take forever the way they have
it . Thanks

Have you checked that APM is enabled in the Control Panel/Power Options?
