Shutdown Problem

I am running XP SP@ and IE v6. I open up IE, browse a while and then exit
IE normally. Now when I go to shutdown I get an error message "iexplore.exe
not respondeing". I have to click "end now" to complete the shutdown
process.

Another problem that might be related. If IE is not open and I click on a
url that should cause IE to open, IE does not open. IF IE is open and I
click on a URL that is in an email, all is OK.

For problems with IE and shutdown, your first troubleshooting step is
always to make sure the computer is virus/malware-free:

Then ask yourself what changed between the time things worked and the
time they didn't.
