Shutdown Problem

Against my better judgement, I recently loaded then ran a freebie version of
"Registry Mechanic" (from Personal Computer World cd). Since then on
clicking
"Turn Off Computer" my PC will wait about 1.5 minutes before displaying
the usual three options - "Standby", "Turn off", "Restart". On selecting
"Turn off", after about 30 seconds I get and 'End Program' box for
"Explorer.EXE not responding". This pops up twice before the PC shuts down
as normal.

Can anyone help me with this?

Use the System Restore tool if there is no "Undo" option.

Afraid not,

I tried a restore but had to go back so far it looks like the whole b....y
lot's caved in. I'll need to start a new thread by the time I've sorted this
lot out!!

Sure. Uninstall the nasty Registry Mechanic.
