My computer shutsdown and restarts 1 to 3 times a day. I
don't see any error message. Do you know what I could
try? Thanks.

Sparky,

Try Micro$oft's update site. There may be a fix there.

Hi Sparky,

WinXP, by default, reboots if there is a fatal error to protect the system.
To disable this behavior and get an error message, go to the Control
Panel/System and click the advanced tab. Under Startup and Recovery
settings, uncheck the box to automatically restart on system failure.

You are presumably blue-screening, and you are set to reboot
whenever that happens. Right-click My Computer, and choose
Properties. On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and
Recovery. Under System failure, uncheck the box "Automatically
restart."

Now when the problem occurs again, you will get the blue screen
with diagnostic information. Post back with those details for
more help.
