Shutdown for no reason - re-post

Marcel

My laptop (Acer Aspire) with XP Home occasionally decides to shutdown
for no
bvious reason. I boot up every morning, and the ahutdown happens after
about
30 minutes. I run from electric power point - battery is not inserted. The
machine reboots normally, without blue screen. Thereafter it stays on for
the rest of the day, until I shutdown properly.
Does anyone have an explanation? Is it software, spyware, virusware, or
hardware?
What do I need to do to cure it? (I use AVG Anti-virus, which hasn't picked
up any viruses.
Many thanks for any replies.

Hi Marcel,

Turn off the option to Automatically restart after a System Failure.

Go into the Power Options located in the Control Panel and see what the
options are set to do.

Also, could be overheating....... Most equip have an auto shutdown if the
temp gets out of control......
