Shutdown Button

Hi All,

I'm having a small problem with my XP Pro installed on my
laptop. Shutdown,Restart and Logoff buttons are not
responding, only Standby and Hibernate are working.

Hoping for any info.

Hi
My firewall keeps telling me that the svchost.exe wants
to access the internet. Why would it want to access the
net and is this a bad thing?

Hi Dean,

Check the system for spy/ad programs.

Svchost.exe is a normal WinXP file that runs several system services, but it
should not be trying to connect to the internet. If you misspelled the name
and it's actually scvhost.exe, then you have a virus called agobot and
should update and run a full system scan with your antivirus software.
