Hi All
Hibernate button no longer visible after repair install. (Used to be four
buttons at shutdown but now only three). Am aware I can view hibernate by
hitting shift in standby.
Is there a possible hotfix for this problem.
Thanks in advance for any help.

you might simply try
using a shortcut method
that can initiate hibernat'n
from the desktop or toolbar.

copy and paste the
following line as
a new shortcut:

%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState m2

After supplying MS with info pertinent to the OS involved, they will email
instructions directing whoever to a MS website from which a password
protected Hotfix can be extracted. Each password is unique to the individual
email.
Hope this helps those with this particular issue.
KB893056.

To enable the Hibernate button on the Turn off Computer window you need
to set the option in the Registry:

1. Copy between the lines
2. Paste into Notepad
3. Make sure that this is a single line:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE . . .

3. Save-as HibernateButton.reg (or any name + .reg)
4. Double-click or right-click and merge into the Registry

--------------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System\Shutdown]
"HibernateAsDefault"=dword:00000001
"ShowHibernateButton"=dword:00000001
