Is there a way to change the "turn off computer" default from standby to
shut down?

I believe if you go to the desk top and right click and select properties.
Then go to the the screen saver tab. select power and select the advanced
tab. There is a pulldown menue which is labeled 'when I push the power
button' It can select shut down as one of the options

If you talk about the "Turn Off" dialog: simply press the first letter
of the option that you want to choose.

Thanx for the reply; what I' trying for is to have the default arrow in
"turn off computer" reside on "turn off"instead of "stand by".

I do not think that you can do this. Does the hotkey function not work
here?
