I have developed a problem shutting down my computer with XP Media Edition.
I click on start, Turn off computer and shutdown. The screen flashes, all
the open programs close but it won't shut down most of the time. I have
also tried the above except Log off and it still won't work. But I can
control/alt delete and bring up the task manager and under users click on my
user (I'm only one) and log off with out a hitch. Then click on the turn
off computer in the lower left corner, again without a hitch. I have
started doing this instead of the normal way cause about 60% of the time the
computer will go so far and then lock up. Is there anyway of fixing this
without reformatting?
