My OS is windows 2000 professional. I would like it to turn off my desktop automatically after I have shut down. Is this possible? if so, how do I do it
Shutdown means the the computer is powered off. If the computer is off
there is NO desktop. Please reevaluate and then restate your question in
a new thread.
I assume that by this, you mean that you are left at the "It is now safe to
turn off your computer" screen, instead of the system powering down. Is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
PowerdownAfterShutdown set to 1? Remember the usual warnings about editing
the registry.
You can also check your Control Panel Power Options, and any power settings
in your BIOS.
