John

I hope someone may be able to help me. The conputer will
not shut down. Everytime I shut down the computer will
shut down and turn right back on. We just recently
installed windows xp, it worked just fine the first
couple of nights. I would really appreciate any help you
could give me. Thank you so much.

Hello!

look at this article;

Has anyone using the computer noticed if
Microsoft "offered" a friendly automatic update? No a
critical one, just a routine one. Or, did you install any
updates on your own volition? What about driver programs?
One week ago, my automatic update gave me the same problem!

My solution (recommended on a forum): System Restore
-Determine last date when system was normal
-Look up "System Restore Wizard" on "Help/support" in the
Start menu
-Follow easy instructions. It is EASILY reversible, and
only affects program files, not settings, or your data.
You may have to reload any software loaded after
the "Restore to" date.
-Know what you are getting in your future MS updates. Most
are superfluous.
