I am most confused and concerned about this and have no idea whether it is a
hardare or software problem. I will be working on my pc and it will just
reboot without warning. Obviously very dangerous and I keep loosing data. I
am running Win 2000, with SP4 on a computer a little less than 1 year old. My
computer has an 80gb hard rive, 256mb RAM, 2.4gb processor. I use all the
normal windows suite of programmes, use AntiVir, Adware, and have a firewall.
I dial up unsing ASDL. The computer has been doing this rebooting thing for
months - no pattern to it whatsovever.

Please can anyone help??!!

If your system event logs don't give you any clues, it could be a hardware
problem (overheating? faulty memory?) or power surge....do you have a backup
battery/UPS? Have you called the computer mfr.? It should still be under
warranty....also might want to post in a hardware-related group.
You should be doing regular backups of all your data, btw - burn CDs, or use
an external hard drive. Even if you weren't having this problem. :)
