Shrunk Screen

I have a Sony 17 inch laptop with Windows XP Professional Operting
System. Suddenly I find that the diplay is a smaller retangle about
40% of the screen. The rest of the area is black. In other words I
have a small screen in the centre surrounded by by black broad strp all
round.

I have tried to get the original screen by using the diplay properties
with no avail.

I shall be thankful I am pointed in the correct way to ge back the
orignal full screen display.

Reinstall the video driver that came with the notebook. It is currently
operating in the default VGA mode since it has no video driver.
