Shrink Start Menu

I am used to W2K and W98SE where the Start Menu is a narrow vertical
column.

In XP Pro, the Start Menu is short and wide, entries scattered in 2
columns.

How to change it to entries in a single narrow vertical column?

Right click the taskbar, properties, start menu tab and select Classic view

Ron, I'm new here, but surprised you are on an XP newsgroup? I still like
W98SE much better than XP.
