Start - All Programs menu -

Using Win XP + SP2
I must have too many programs on my system?
The Start - All Programs Menu has now 4 columns but the 4th only half of it
is visible.
Is there a way to narrow the columns, so more programs would be displayed?

If you right click the start button and then click explore all users......you
can modify/add new folders and then move(right click and drag) programs into
it.Every program seems to want its own little headline whereas you could create
(for example) an AUDIO folder and move all audio related programs into it.In
this way you can decrease the amount of real estate AllPrograms displays when
opened.

The width of columns is set by the length of the longest name. So look
for long ones, right click and Rename, dropping off superfluous words
(eg changing Microsoft Word 2003 to just Word)

And consider doing a bit of organisation of items into sub-menus of
related things. R-click the Start Button, Open All Users, in that open
the Programs folder and File - New folder, Each folder you make will
become a sub-menu, so name them suitably (eg Games; Multimedia) and
drag items into them

Similarly in your Personal items, on r-click Start, just Open instead
