Show desktop icons

I'm using the User Interface Core component and I have checked the "Show
Desktop Icons" check-box. But still I get an empty desktop.

What am I doing wrong?

Goran,

At run time please verify if the following value is set to 0 or not set:
[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced], "HideIcons"=dword:0
