Show Desktop icon on Quick Launch misbehaves

Will Niccolls

The Desktop icon in the Quick Launch toolbar displays a folder window of
Desktop, instead of the users preferred minimizing of all windows. I guess
this is a simple matter of replacing it with the correctly targeted icon,
but darned if I can find it.

Hi Will,

Automated Edit:

Restore/Add Show Desktop to Quick Launch (Line 61) Right hand side
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Or go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 /n /i:U shell32

Manual Edit:

Copy and paste the five lines below into Notepad.

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Then save it as Show Desktop.scf and drag it to your quick launch bar.

Everyone, thank you for your efforts. I elected to create the scf file as
Kelly describes and now my user is quite happy again...

Thanks.
